Making a difference, differently...

It is heartwarming to hear that Nageshwari @ Nagi, as she is known to all I know, is starting her venture. I wish her all the luck & I am sure she will do very well with her skill set and experience.I got acquainted with her in the Year 2004, when I was the Business Head of few companies in the Sanmar Engineering, Chennai. She was the go-to HR person in the Corporate HR team of the Sanmar Group. She was sensitive to the hiring needs of the business and ensured total fit with specifications laid, and candidates sourced and eventually recruited. She was particularly "famed" for emergency hires for urgent business needs. She had excellent interpersonal skills and could convince all of us to the correct approach when needed. It was particularly evident when we traveled across the country to various colleges to recruit engineers for our GET program. She had superlative communication skills, which made her the sought-after trainer for soft skills across the Sales offices within India. She had the emotional intellect to work well with the Business Heads and connect well with the Functional Heads, her real customers. I lost close contact with her after leaving the Sanmar group, however have been periodically tracking her progress. Since then, and have not been surprised at the strides she has made professionally. Now that she intends to start on her, I thought I would tell her what I thought of her professional abilities, which will add more drive to her can-do attitude.

Nageshwari was part of my HR team at Sanmar. I was very impressed with her dedication and commitment. She was the first to reach office every morning within my team and was very hardworking. I could rely on her completely. She had a special strength with data and reporting. I wish Nageshwari every success in her future endeavors!

I have worked with Nageshwari @ Nagi during her stint in HR in the Sanmar Group where I was the Business Manager for one of the Engineering Businesses. Sanmar was known for its innovative HR practices that made it such a great company to work for and Nagi was one of the key players in shaping and implementing these HR policies. Nagi always believed that HR should be a partner with the Business Unit and be an enabler for growth. Towards this end, Nagi took an active part starting from talent acquisition to on-boarding to training and skill development, team bonding and the mentor-mentee program. During my stint as the Business Manager, I was able to focus exclusively on my Operations knowing fully well that Nagi was there for me to handle the Human Relations part of my assignment. Like any other good HR professional, Nagi has a way with words and this is reflected in her blog “Lens of Buddha”. She grew up in Bhutan, so some of the gentleness of the Bhutanese still lingers in her. Nagi has now started her HR Consultancy and I know that she will bring the same passion and skill and single-mindedness into her new assignment as she seeks to advise her clients. I wish her all the very best and hope that her new venture grows from strength to strength.

I'm reminded of our first meeting in year 2008 just before an formal interview. Yes, the first impression about you was a professional with no loose ends in recruitment and personally following it up till on board. Also following up post recruitment adaptability of the employees. I'm sure you still be having the same zeal especially when you are the boss. Having interacted closely during the last 4 years, I have experienced in her enormous soundness and alacrity and also demonstrates high acumen in the HR space. The professional panache with which she presents herself is commendable. I sensed a great degree of learning inclination apart from extraordinary abilities to deeply connect with co-learners, when she attended 10 modules of a training program focused on Personality Development and Leadership Skills, which I facilitated in 2018. I had a wonderful opportunity to work with Nageshwari in Sanmar when I was a Chief Executive in the group and she was in Corporate HR. An excellent HR professional, meticulous in details and great organizing ability. We worked together on Talent Acquisition of Graduate Trainees from various institutes.
